Electronic Plan Review: Seeking Public Input

For more than two years, DPD has been working with volunteer applicants to test our electronic plan review service. This process will allow customers to submit their plans electronically and provide cost savings by reducing paper usage, time spent reproducing and consolidating plan sets and eliminating most trips to DPD.

SLU Height and Density Final EIS Will be Released April 5, 2012

Review copies of the South Lake Union Final Environmental Impact Statement will be available at the Public Resource Center on the 20th floor of the Seattle Municipal Tower (700 5th Avenue), and the Central, Capitol Hill, and Queen Anne branches of the Seattle Public Library.

Grace Period Announced for Energy Benchmarking Program

Buildings 10,000 square feet or greater (including multifamily buildings of five or more units) now have until at least October 1, 2012 to comply with Seattle’s energy benchmarking and reporting program. In response to public input that more assistance and time is needed to comply, the City is evaluating the program and considering staggered reporting deadlines based on building size.

Seattle Japan Relief Coalition Community Event on March 11, 2012

SeattleJapanRelief.org and the Consulate General of Japan in Seattle will hold a special community event on Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Seattle Center. The event, held on the one-year anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake will focus on three themes: remembrance, preparedness and rebuilding.

Two Neighborhoods Finalize Their Plan Updates and Begin to Implement Priorities

This March, the communities of Broadview – Bitter Lake – Haller Lake and Rainier Beach will start taking action on priorities for their neighborhoods. Draft 2012 Seattle Building Code for Review

The draft 2012 Seattle Building Code is available for public review and comment. It consists of the 2012 International Building Code (IBC) with proposed amendments. DPD is planning for the 2012 Seattle Building Code to take effect in the summer of 2013.
