Preliminary Recommendations for Developing Small Single-Family Lots
DPD’s preliminary recommendations (http://bit.ly/YrPoGI) were presented on the March 14, 2013 meeting of the City Council’s Planning Land Use and Sustainability Committee (PLUS). At that meeting, DPD provided PLUS with a preliminary briefing, so that the committee members could provide guidance to DPD on the recommendations memo before it is presented to the public for comment and discussion.
Private Property Tree Regulations Update
DPD is proposing to update development standards regarding the retention and planting of trees on private property during the development process. The updated standards will also implement a requirement to get a permit prior to removing specified trees on lots where no development is proposed.
Final Public Comment Period for Green Code Provisions
DPD invites you to participate in evaluating proposed green code provisions under consideration by the City of Seattle and other jurisdictions within the Puget Sound Region. The Green Code Provisions address water conservation, material conservation, and sustainable transportation.
Draft Seattle Residential Code Now Available
The draft Seattle Residential Code is available for public comment. DPD expects the 2012 Seattle Residential Code to take effect next summer or fall along with the other 2012 technical codes. The draft contains only the portions of the code for which amendments are being proposed.
Open House for Green Code Provisions
DPD invites you to join us at an open house on October 29 to review and discuss draft green code provisions. What Goes Up When the Red Wall Comes Down?
In October 2011 the Urban Design Framework for the Capitol Hill Light Rail Station Sites was finalized. The framework described the community’s vision for the redevelopment of the station sites, offering development guidance and design guidance to the future developers of the station sites. Shortly after the framework was finalized, City and Sound Transit staff began negotiations on the terms of a development agreement. If approved by both the City and the Sound Transit Board, the agreement will outline development standards for the station sites to achieve the goals outlined in the framework. Public comment is being taken through Wednesday October 3.
Draft Shoreline Restoration Plan Released
The Department of Planning and Development (DPD) is pleased to announce the release of the draft Shoreline Restoration Plan. Written comments on the plan are welcomed and encouraged. The comment period will last through Friday, February 10, 2012.
