DPD is proud to announce Peter Dobrovolny as a 2010 Cascadia Green Building Council Fellow. The Cascadia Fellowship is awarded annually to individuals who have made significant contributions to the green building movement either regionally or nationally, and are recognized leaders within the greater green design community. The fellows embody Cascadia’s conviction that individuals and organizations can lead a transformation of the built environment by acting as a lever and a catalyst for change. Peter Dobrovolny is a local pioneer in green building and one of Cascadia’s first board members. He is a member of DPD’s Green Building Team, a group tasked with developing strategies to motivate greener building in the private sector. Peter currently serves on Cascadia’s Seattle branch steering committee tasked with developing local education programs and events. Peter’s experience covers almost all aspects of design and construction. Not only does he have a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master’s in Urban Planning, but over his career he has acted as architect, engineer, developer, builder and consultant. He is a sought after team member who works tirelessly to assist projects in becoming true sustainable solutions. Peter has helped launch DPD’s Green Permitting incentive programs, an Integrated Design Process training program and most recently the Seattle 2030 District. Peter’s next challenge: updating Seattle’s Sustainable Building Policy. Lookout Seattle, his favorite color is Platinum.
