The new 2009 Seattle technical codes are now in effect as of Nov. 23, 2010. This includes:
• Building Code
• Residential Code
• Existing Building Code
• Energy Code – Non-Residential*
• Mechanical Code
• Fuel and Gas Code
• Plumbing Code
• Fire Code
Most of the 2009 Seattle codes and amendments are now available for purchase at DPD’s Public Resource Center (PRC) on the 20th floor of the Seattle Municipal Tower. The PRC will also mail codes to purchasers. To order codes and to confirm what is currently available and cost, please contact the PRC at (206) 684-8467 or prc@seattle.gov.
The 2009 Seattle Energy Code is now in effect for nonresidential spaces. The revised requirements for residential spaces will take effect on Jan. 1, 2011. Work is underway to prepare code insert pages with the Seattle amendments, and to update the Seattle Energy Code website, compliance forms, CAMs and Director’s Rules.
