Mayor Mike McGinn and DPD are looking for applicants for 5 positions on the Construction Codes Advisory Board. Board members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council for renewable, three-year terms. We are recruiting for a general contractor, electrical engineer, apartment building owner or operator, and 2 representatives of the general public.
The Construction Codes Advisory Board (CCAB) advises DPD on the development of the Seattle Building, Residential, Mechanical, Electrical, and Energy codes. It hears appeals of DPD decisions that apply the codes to specific projects. CCAB also has an Innovation Advisory Committee that provides a collaborative venue to develop solutions to issues raised by innovative energy-efficiency proposals that are not addressed by existing code provisions.
CCAB members have a unique opportunity to give input on important issues that affect the building and design professions, and the City’s built environment. CCAB meets at noon on the first and third Thursdays of each month, as needed.
The City of Seattle is committed to promoting diversity in the City’s boards and commissions. People with multicultural backgrounds or experience working in multicultural environments and serving diverse populations are encouraged to apply.
