On Jan. 1, 2013, DPD adjusted its permitting service fees and charges. DPD uses the most recent building valuation data (BVD) published by the International Code Council as a base upon which to create a Seattle BVD table, found in Director’s Rule 1-2013, Implementation of the Fee Subtitle, Building Valuation Data.
There are only a few proposed changes this year. There was an overall fee increase of 2.4 percent. The DPD base fee went up from $177 to $181—an increase of 2.25 percent.
Seattle Fire Department (SFD) fees also changed on Jan. 1. SFD provides plan review and inspection services for fire and life safety systems like sprinklers and fire alarms. SFD construction inspection fees were last modified in 2005. For complete information on SFD’s construction-related fees, please visit www.seattle.gov/fire.
