City Council is now considering a package of amendments to the Seattle Comprehensive Plan. DPD helped the Mayor prepare these amendments, which came from several different sources including the City’s Green Ribbon Commission, the Seattle Planning Commission, neighborhood planning groups and individuals.
Some of this year’s amendments lay groundwork for the required major review and update of the plan that is due in 2015. These amendments include policies on urban design, climate change and transit communities. DPD staff will brief the City Council’s Planning Land Use and Sustainability Committeeabout all the recommended amendments on February 13. The Council has scheduled a public hearing on the amendments in the Council chambers for March 14 at 5:30 p.m.
Visit our website to see the proposed ordinance that would adopt all the recommended amendments. Our website also has the director’s report that explains why we made these recommendations.
