Join us for the next 23rd Avenue Action Plan (Union-Cherry-Jackson) Joint Community Workshop & Open House.
Saturday, June 29
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Garfield Community Center
2323 E. Cherry Street
This workshop and open house will be a combined event featuring two important 23rd Avenue projects:
23rd Avenue Corridor (Street) Improvement Project
The 23rd Avenue Corridor Improvement Project is a Seattle Department of Transportation project to improve the 23rd Avenue corridor between E John and S Rainier streets. The project originally began as a repaving project between E John and S Jackson streets only, but was expanded through the award of several grants for signals, paving, transit, and pedestrian improvements. SDOT met with the community in March 2013 and took input on several different design options. We’ve heard you and look forward to sharing the preferred alternative to redevelop the corridor into a Complete Street.
23rd Avenue Action Plan (Union-Cherry-Jackson)
Continue to turn your passion into action! It’s time to move forward with the next step toward creating a shared vision and action plan for the 23rd Avenue community cores at Union, Cherry, and Jackson. We will (1) review the shared vision and information collected at the April 2013 workshops and online survey, (2) confirm and prioritize the strategies being proposed in response to what was shared, and (3) begin building action teams and partnerships which will work together to make it all happen.
