On July 29 City Council adopted a resolution identifying topics they want DPD to explore as possible amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, as part of the annual amendment cycle:
- Changes related to planning underway in the University District – including amendments to the University Urban Center neighborhood plan goals and policies, and two competing mapping suggestions.
- Suggestions to amend portions of the Future Land Use Map covering the Ballard Manufacturing Industrial Center – one for a small area just north of Dravus St. and another for the National Guard Armory site.
- Amending the Central Area Neighborhood Plan, as a result of a community planning effort DPD is now conducting.
- Policy changes related to the proposed new basketball arena in the Duwamish Manufacturing/Industrial Center (see related story).
Based on DPD’s analysis, the Mayor will make recommendations about these topics to the City Council in December. Council will hold a public hearing and vote on those recommendations in the first quarter of 2014.
