The Roosevelt Neighborhood Association in partnership with DPD has drafted new design guidelines to guide the character of development near the future Roosevelt Light Rail Station. The new design guidelines are available for review along with a State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) analysis. Comments are due to DPD by April 27.
In anticipation of light rail, which is scheduled to start operating in Roosevelt by 2020, several new apartment and commercial buildings are under construction within walking distance of the future station. When City Council updated zoning around the future Light Rail station in 2012 they also directed DPD to update the neighborhood-specific design guidelines. We worked with the Roosevelt community to complete the guidelines over the last several months.
