Did you know that the City of Seattle has a re-roof permit requirement? One- and two-family homes are exempt from the permit. However, commercial and multifamily buildings could require a re-roofing permit. A re-roof permit is required when you are repairing an area greater than 500 square feet or replacing roofing materials on commercial and multifamily projects. The process is pretty simple. You can get the permit over the counter in the Applicant Service Center or through the DPD Project Portal. There is a flat fee for this type of permit and just two forms to fill out; plans are not required. For more information please visit our Re-Roof Permit website.
