SDCI now requires you to include a completed King County Sewer Use Capacity Form when you submit your construction permit application. We require this form for all new construction projects, including Detached Accessory Dwelling Units (DADUs). You must complete, sign, and submit the correct form based on your project’s type of construction:
- Residential Construction (Single and Multi-Family)
- Non-Residential (Commercial/Industrial)
- Alternative Housing (Micro Housing, Adult Family Home, Student Dormitory)
For both single-family residences and DADUs, please use the residential construction form and check single-family (free standing, detached only). For mixed-use buildings, please complete both a residential and commercial form.
Complete the form with the best-known project information at your application intake appointment. You may adjust the forms based on the actual permitted project before we send the forms to King County.
Why did we make this change?
We have always required that applicants submit a Sewer Capacity Charge Form for new construction. In the past, we required the form be submitted when we issued the side sewer permit. We are changing when we collect the form to increase accountability to King County and transparency to our applicants.
