Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is pleased to announce that the SPU Design Standards & Guidelines (DSG) V4.0 is now available on their website.
The DSG covers many aspects of design at SPU, including the design process, permitting, water infrastructure, Drainage & Wastewater infrastructure, electrical, SCADA, and physical security to name a few. It provides guidelines on how SPU does design and a resource for consultants working on City of Seattle projects.
Over 18-chapter owners and numerous contributors worked to update the Design Standards & Guidelines to reflect SPU’s current design practices. Users of the guidelines are encouraged to provide feedback that SPU will consider for future inclusion or revisions.
SPU has published the Design Standards & Guidelines since 2008, with updates in 2010 and 2016. This will be their fourth update to the DSG. SPU anticipates making updates to the guidelines every three years or as needed.
If you have questions or feedback on the DSG, email the at spu_dsg@seattle.gov.
