SDCI is pleased to announce that we are planning some exciting changes to how we review plan sets. This fall, we will stop sending out standard letter-based corrections for plan reviews and begin providing marked-up documents using the Bluebeam software application. This application allows reviewers to place comments directly where they apply on the plan set, instead of describing the location of the issue in a letter. We’re confident that this change will enhance the clarity of our comments.
What stays the same?
Much of the process that you experience as applicants will not change. You’ll still receive notifications that a review has been completed and receive summary reports by discipline in the Seattle Services Portal. You’ll continue to submit updated plan sets after all reviews have been completed.
What’s different with this process?
Once we complete all our reviews, you’ll receive a marked-up plan set with comments from ALL review disciplines. Instead of preparing responses to each individual correction letter as you do today, you’ll reply to the comments directly in the marked-up plan set using either Bluebeam (requires a license) or Adobe Acrobat (free).
We’ll provide more updates on our new review process as we get closer to our launch date this fall. We are excited about this transition and hope it will improve the efficiency and precision of our plan review process.
