The 2026 Stormwater Code and Stormwater Manual have been in effect for a few months. To help you get stormwater review approval more quickly, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Use the new Stormwater Plan and Small Construction SW Control Soil Management Standard Plan (when required). Both are available on the SDCI Stormwater Code webpage.
- Read your Preliminary Assessment Report (PAR) carefully. It includes detailed information from both SDCI and Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) to help you understand the stormwater and wastewater requirements for your project. The PAR is designed to give you as much information as possible before you submit your plans.
New Training Available
The SDCI stormwater review team has posted “Stormwater Code 101” and “2026 Code Update” training videos. You’ll find them in the training section at the bottom of the SDCI Stormwater Code page.
These training courses are helpful whether you’re new to stormwater management or experienced with complex plan submissions.
