Electrical inspector on a construction site.On March 23, Governor Inslee issued a Stay at Home Order that limits construction activity throughout Washington. On March 25, Governor Inslee issued a Construction Guidance Memo. In response, SDCI is reducing our inspection services to only those that support construction activity that is deemed essential. Per the Governor’s memo, we will only inspect for:

  • Publicly funded low-income housing
  • Stabilization of non-essential construction activity
  • Public facilities
  • Critical facilities
  • Damaged structures
  • Emergency housing inspections
  • Vacant buildings open to entry

Our reduced inspection services will be in effect through May 4, 2020 unless extended by Governor Inslee.

Please visit our Inspections website for instructions on how to request an inspection. You may include a copy of your request to the State website link and their response to complement your application for inspection.

If you have a complaint about non-essential construction activity that is continuing, please fill out the Violations of the Governor’s Proclamation form.

We understand that this reduction in service is an inconvenience to our customers. We will continue to serve you to the best of our ability during this time.
