We’re happy to announce a new coaching service to support early identification of tree protection requirements. A Tree Pre-Submittal Conference, referred to as a “TreeSub,” provides an opportunity for permit applicants to connect directly with reviewing arborists to discuss tree protection requirements for a proposed project. A TreeSub may include an on-site meeting to review the existing trees on site and any off-site trees with overhanging canopy or roots that may impact where construction may occur on the site. This service has a minimum cost of 1 x Land Use (LU) hourly rate. The current LU hourly rate is 551 dollars. Your payment is due when you request the appointment. The minimum cost typically covers a 30-45 minute virtual meeting with an arborist and a written summary of the discussion to assist in the preparation of a proposed site plan. You can expect it will take an additional hour for on-site meetings. Learn more about site plan requirements on our Trees & Codes web page.
We recognize the benefits of predictable and consistent guidance in assisting permit applicants. TreeSubs provide an opportunity for project applicants to receive advance information related to the tree protection area needed for a specific project that should inform early site planning efforts prior to submitting a full permit application to the department. Apply for a “Tree or ECA Related Analysis” Land Use Analysis request.
