November 23rd Project Review Meetings Cancelled Due to Inclement Weather

2009 Technical Codes Availability
The last day to submit permit applications using the 2006 Seattle Codes is November 22. This includes the Building, Residential, Mechanical, Fuel Gas and Existing Buildings codes, as well as the nonresidential portions of the Seattle Energy Code.
We expect the code books to be available in the near future.
POSTPONED: West Seattle Triangle Open House
Seattle DPD is planning an open house event for the West Seattle Triangle Project. The open house will take place on December 2 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM at the West Seattle Senior Center. All are invited. The open house will present information about the West Seattle Triangle planning project including project outcomes and community process to date.
Public Hearings on South Downtown and Multifamily Legislations
The City Council’s Committee on the Built Environment will hold two public hearings to take comments on two proposals: 1) South Downtown legislation; and 2) Amendments to lowrise zoning and establishing a design review process for townhouses.
TIME CORRECTION: The hearings are on November 22, 2010. The hearing for South Downtown will be first at 5:30 p.m. and the hearing on the lowrise and design review proposals will immediately follow.

2009 Codes Become Mandatory November 23
The last date on which DPD will accept applications using the 2006 codes will be November 22, 2010. Beginning on November 23, applications must comply with the 2009 Seattle building, residential, mechanical, fuel gas, and existing building codes.
Free Landslide Awareness Meetings: Nov. 20 and Dec. 4
Have a problem with a steep slope? Learn how to protect yourself and your property at one of two free landslide meetings, sponsored by DPD, Seattle Public Utilities, and Seattle Parks and Recreation. An annual series, the meetings will provide presentations and individual consultation on best practices for managing landslide prone properties.
2009 Seattle Energy Code Approved
The 2009 Seattle Energy Code has now been approved. City Council approved the 2009 Seattle Energy Code on October 18, 2010. The Mayor signed the legislation on October 22, 2010.
DPD Business Closure on December 23
DPD’s final furlough day is Thursday, December 23.
