Seattle Arena Final Environmental Impact Statement Available
This morning, public notice was posted regarding the availability of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the Seattle Arena proposal. The Final EIS includes updated traffic and transportation information, additional information on parking locations, additional details on transportation mitigation, and comments received on the Draft EIS with responses to those comments. The FEIS also updates potential mitigation measures for the identified impacts.
U District Green Streets and EIS
A lot is happening in the U District! April saw milestones for two ongoing projects. First, we’ve released draft streetscape designs for Brooklyn Ave NE, NE 43rd St., and NE 42nd St. Second, we’re requesting public comments on the U District Urban Design Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
Seattle Comprehensive Plan Major Update EIS Scoping
DPD is scoping an environmental impact statement (EIS) that will evaluate the City’s Comprehensive Plan update. The EIS will examine the possible impacts under three different growth scenarios. On March 24, we held a public meeting to discuss the three alternatives and to get public feedback on whether we’re looking at the right alternatives. Did you miss the meeting? DPD is holding five more meetings about the EIS planning alternatives in April. We’ll be in several communities throughout Seattle.
U District Urban Design EIS Public Scoping Meeting
You are invited to attend a scoping meeting for the U District Urban Design EIS (Environmental Impact Statement) on September 24. The EIS will study potential impacts of implementing the U District Urban Design Framework, which was created by members of the community and City planners throughout 2012 and 2013. The upcoming meeting will describe the EIS process, draft zoning alternatives, and topics to be considered in the EIS document.
Seattle Arena Draft Environmental Impact Statement Available
This afternoon, notice was posted regarding the availability of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Seattle Arena and the beginning of the 45 day comment period. Additional public notice will be sent for upcoming public hearings to take comment on the DEIS.
SLU Height and Density Final EIS Will be Released April 5, 2012
Review copies of the South Lake Union Final Environmental Impact Statement will be available at the Public Resource Center on the 20th floor of the Seattle Municipal Tower (700 5th Avenue), and the Central, Capitol Hill, and Queen Anne branches of the Seattle Public Library.
Roosevelt Rezone Update
An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Scoping meeting was held by DPD on July 21, 2010 for the proposed development being reviewed under project 3010100 (Roosevelt Development Group contract rezone and EIS). Due to the high level of interest in the proposal, DPD wants to make sure everyone has a chance to provide their comment to DPD regarding Scoping for the EIS. DPD has therefore extended the public comment for Scoping to September 1, 2010.
South Lake Union Planning Update
DPD has released revised EIS alternatives for increased height and density in the South Lake Union Neighborhood to be studied in an Environmental Impact Statement. In addition, preliminary findings for an urban design framework for South Lake Union, to complement and inform the EIS alternatives, have been published. The revised EIS alternatives and design framework respond to concerns raised by stakeholders in scoping comments.
