DPD has monitored micro dwelling units in Seattle for about two years. We are now evaluating our rules to make sure we have, clear, and consistent regulations. Our evaluation is based on our research and on concerns raised by the public and elected officials.
For the past six months, we have been studying and thinking about the future of Interbay. Metro has introduced Rapid Ride giving residents and businesses more frequent transit. New apartments and offices are under construction. New businesses have joined long-standing ones to become part of an increasingly diverse business community.
DPD’s preliminary recommendations (http://bit.ly/YrPoGI) were presented on the March 14, 2013 meeting of the City Council’s Planning Land Use and Sustainability Committee (PLUS). At that meeting, DPD provided PLUS with a preliminary briefing, so that the committee members could provide guidance to DPD on the recommendations memo before it is presented to the public for comment and discussion.
