Proposed Tree Regulations
In July 2010, DPD proposed a comprehensive revision of Seattle’s tree regulations. Responding to Council Resolution 31138, DPD evaluated the effectiveness of existing regulations and made recommendations on how they could be improved. The proposal is intended to meet the goals of the Urban Forest Management Plan while balancing competing needs.
Creating a Real Wealth Economy for a Just and Sustainable Cascadia
We humans are awakening to the reality that we are living beings and that life, by its nature, can exist only in community. The framework for a new economy is designed to bring humans into balance with Earth’s biosphere, equitably share the wealth of our common human heritage, and make democracy a living practice. It’s time to turn away from the economic system ruled by global corporations and financial markets and create a future in which economic power is rooted in people and communities of place.
Seattle City Hall and Justice Center Performance Evaluation Report
Although many case studies of sustainable buildings have been produced, few are grounded in a true understanding of the field performance of their sustainable features. Acknowledging this, the City of Seattle commissioned a post occupancy performance evaluation of two of its key sustainable buildings in the downtown Civic Core – Seattle City Hall and the Seattle Justice Center.

Central Waterfront’s Project Management/ Engineering Team Selected
The City of Seattle is pleased to announce the selection of Central Waterfront Partners as the project management/engineering team for Seattle’s Central Waterfront project. This project management/ engineering team will now combine with our recently selected design team, headed by james corner field operations, to jointly design and build the new waterfront.
