Check out King County’s article about how the Environmental Health Services Division’s permitting services will be temporarily closed from Wednesday, November 26 at 4 PM through Tuesday, December 9 as we prepare to launch the Public Health Permit Center on Wednesday, December 10.

What is not available during the temporary closure (11/26-12/9)?

During the temporary system closure, customers are not able to:

  • Submit application for new permits, plan reviews, or change of ownership
  • View and make account changes in the Environmental Health Portal
  • Make payments or request refunds

When the new system launches on Wednesday, December 10, we will update this webpage with instructions for how to register for an account.

The Permit Center is designed to better serve our customers by streamlining the permitting process and making it easier to get information about your application. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this new system!

The Permit Center will replace the current Environmental Health online services portal. Permit Center services will include:

  • Food business permitting and plan review
  • Water recreation facility permitting and plan review
  • Pet business permitting and plan review
  • Solid waste facilities and solid/medical waste vehicle permits
  • Plumbing and gas piping permitting and plan review
  • On-site sewage system applications
  • School plan review
  • Complaints and inquiries for unsafe food handling, rodents, septic systems and other environmental conditions
  • And more

The Public Health Permit Center is an online service portal for permits, plan reviews, complaints and inquiries, formerly known as the Environmental Health Portal.
