All applications for Land Use and Construction permits need to be reviewed by staff with expertise in various Seattle codes. It is important for all staff to review each project using the same property boundaries, known as a “development site.” This is important to properly conform to code requirements, to provide consistency to applicants and the public, and to allow property records to be easily accessible.

The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts recently announced the winners of the 22nd Annual Communicator Awards. Out of the 6,000 entries received, the City of Seattle was recognized for outstanding achievement in publicizing Seattle’s new Rental Registration and Inspection Ordinance (RRIO).

The Mayor’s Recommended Comprehensive Plan was released on May 3! The Plan is a blueprint for how Seattle will grow over the coming twenty years. Chinatown/International District/Little Saigon Sustainable Neighborhood Assessment Update
A team from Global Green USA completed its site visit to Chinatown/International District, including Little Saigon, between May 9 and 11. The site visit is part of their Neighborhood Sustainability Assessment for the Chinatown/International District based on the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – Neighborhood Development (LEED – ND) standards. The assessment will help the community develop a holistic approach to sustaining the Chinatown/International District/Little Saigon neighborhood’s cultural, economic, social, and historical qualities.
