The City Council passed Council Bill 120207 requiring 1) tree service providers to register with the City of Seattle before conducting commercial tree work and consultations on private property and 2) property owners to post a public notice on-site before any tree work beyond routine maintenance. The tree service provider registry will be accessible to the public so that owners, residents, and neighbors can be assured a registered company knowledgeable with tree regulations and best practices is completing work in their neighborhood.

Public Notice – Land Use Information Bulletin
To make sure you receive notice of Land Use Applications, Decisions, Meetings, Hearings, New codes and Director’s Rules, you can subscribe to our Land Use Information Bulletin (LUIB). The LUIB is a great way to get public notices and stay informed about development projects in your neighborhood and throughout Seattle. It includes projects that have public comment opportunities or upcoming public meetings.
Reminder: We’ve Updated Our Large Public Notice Signs
Beginning June 1, 2017, our new, colorful, large public notice signs will: show a picture of the proposed project; include a map showing the location of the project in relationship to nearby streets and properties; have a simple description of the project, and detailed bullet points; include information on how to review the project online; and list the date of the comment period on the project.
Proposed Land Use Procedure Changes
The City Council is sponsoring legislation that would amend Seattle’s regulations for processing land use permits. The proposed amendments would streamline administration of the Land Use Code and update methods for public notice. Many of the proposed amendments are technical corrections (such as correcting cross-references, combining sections that address the same topics, and updating grammar and format). The legislation would also expand public notice requirements and clarify procedures for Council land use decisions.
