Roosevelt Rezone Public Hearing
The Seattle City Council will be hosting a public hearing on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at 6 p.m. The hearing will be held at the Roosevelt High School Auditorium.
What’s Your Dream for Seattle?
Last month, we asked Seattle to take our online survey about the next 20 years of Seattle’s future. The themes in this survey will guide our major Comp Plan Update. We have heard from a thousand Seattle citizens. As part of the survey, we’re asking participants to tell us their dream for Seattle’s future.
Northgate Station Area Urban Design Study Survey
DPD held an initial public meeting for this study on July 26, and gathered feedback on priorities for future growth and preferred types of improvements near the Northgate Transit Center. The study is exploring how the public environment (streets, sidewalks, parks, bus transfer points) may be arranged in the district near the Transit Center, as well as building forms, preferred mixes of uses, and ways to achieve a truly livable, healthy and attractive place.

Three new Client Assistance Memos were released in September: CAM 238B, Streamlined Design Review: General Information, Application Instructions, and Submittal Requirements; CAM 245, Requirements for Interim Use Permits (Interim Light Rail Parking); and CAM 246, Requirements for Interim Use Permits (Vacant and Underused Lot Pilot Project).
Mayor McGinn sends job creation package to City Council
Mayor Mike McGinn today transmitted to the City Council a legislative package to reduce regulatory burdens that hinder job creation. The package was developed by a panel of developers, neighborhood activists, design professionals, labor leaders, and environmentalists. Mayor McGinn convened the panel as part of his Jobs Plan, to spark innovation and entrepreneurial investment, and make it easier for businesses to be sustainable in Seattle.
