As of May 16 2011, DPD customers will be able to complete all plan routing-related transactions with DPD in the Applicant Services Center (ASC) on the 20th floor of the Seattle Municipal Tower.
Process Change: Food Services Reviews
Effective April 18, 2011, applicants for building permits that trigger a review by the Public Health – Seattle and King County will have the option of applying directly to the Health Department prior to or concurrent with review by DPD. For those applicants who have not applied directly to Public Health for approval, DPD will continue to route projects for Public Health review until May 16, 2011.

Land Use Pre-Submittal Conference Requires Fees and Financial Responsibility Statement Form
The Financial Responsibility Statement form is required when applying for a Land Use Pre-Submittal conference. This change goes into effect May 1, 2011.
State Has New Lead-Based Paint Renovation and Painting Program
The Washington State Department of Commerce has begun enforcing new rules aimed at protecting children from poisoning by lead-based paint. The State is focused on training and education for contractors so they may apply the new nationwide rules for lead-safe work practices.

Comment on Water Availability Certificate Policy Changes
Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is revising its Water Availability Certificate Policy for connecting to its distribution water system.
Updates to the Water Availability Certificate (WAC) policy, which was originally developed many years ago, will provide updates to address changes in how development is happening in Seattle, particularly infill development. There are also changes to ensure fairer application of code requirements to all development.
