DPD is proud to announce Peter Dobrovolny as a 2010 Cascadia Green Building Council Fellow. The Cascadia Fellowship is awarded annually to individuals who have made significant contributions to the green building movement either regionally or nationally, and are recognized leaders within the greater green design community.
2010 Built Green Incentive
The King County/Seattle Built Green® incentive provides funding for single-family, townhome, multi-family residential, remodel and community development projects to help offset the cost of certifying and designing innovative green projects throughout Seattle and King County. Eligible projects may receive up to $20,000.
Marshall Foster New Seattle Planning Director
Diane Sugimura, director of the Department of Planning and Development (DPD), today announced the appointment of Marshall Foster as Seattle city planning director. The city planning director oversees all aspects of Seattle’s comprehensive and regional planning, land use policy, neighborhood planning, urban design, green building, and the work of the Seattle Design and Planning Commissions. The city planning director reports to the head of DPD.

DPD offers a suite of green permitting options aimed at delivering faster, easier and smarter permit reviews for applicants pursuing sustainable development projects. Green permitting supports Seattle’s leadership role in climate protection and furthers City Green Building’s efforts to make sustainable design and construction standard practice.
City Launches Expedited Permitting for Green Projects
The City of Seattle announced today the start of a new expedited permitting process for highly energy efficient development projects. On September 30 the Department of Planning and Development (DPD) launched the Green Q permitting program for single family and other small residential projects.
