New Shaping Seattle Map for Finding Land Use and Construction Permits
SDCI is pleased to announce the release of its new Shaping Seattle: Property & Building Activity map. This new map allows users to find active construction and land use permits and proposals subject to Design Review in their neighborhood. The map will make it easier for the public to research active permits, find related documents and permit records, view upcoming Design Review meeting dates, and comment on land use permits under review. SDCI optimized the map to work best on mobile devices so you can quickly find permit information about projects you see when walking in your community.

SDCI is in the process of creating a new Design Review Board to serve the Central Area. We are currently finalizing our selection of candidates to fill board positions representing local residential, community, development, business/landscape design, and design profession interests.

In anticipation of pending legislation proposing an eighth Design Review Board for the Central Area, we are accepting applications for new board members. Design review board members evaluate the design of new buildings based on citywide and neighborhood-specific design guidelines. The boards review large mixed-use developments, multifamily housing, and commercial projects. The volunteer positions will start on July 1, 2018, pending a vote by City Council on legislation to establish the new Design Review Board district. If legislation is revised or delayed, we will contact applicants regarding their application status or next steps.
