Draft Floating on Water Vessels Director Rule
SDCI is proposing a new Director’s Rule, Verification of floating on-water residences. The purpose of the Director’s Rule is to clarify the application material required for verification of floating on-water residences and to establish an end date for verification of any new floating on-water residences.

We updated the General Standards for Plans and Drawings Tip. We updated a Director’s Rule with new Landslide maps, and posted a Draft Directors Rule with new SEPA thresholds for comment.

In March we updated two Tips and released two draft Director’s Rules and two final Director’s Rules.
August Publication Updates
We released a draft Director’s Rule about major marijuana activities dispersion and a final Director’s rule about the basin amplification workshop results.

Proposed Director’s Rule for Community Outreach for Design Review
On May 4, SDCI published a proposed joint Director’s Rule with Department of Neighborhoods, for review and for public comment until May 21, 2018.
Living Building Pilot Program Lives On
The City Council approved and the Mayor signed legislation that continues the Living Building Pilot Program (LBPP) until 2025. The law will become effective on November 6, 2016. The updated Living Building program legislation expands on a pilot program started in 2009 and increases the number of buildings that can participate to 20. To date, two projects have met the Living Building Pilot Program requirements, the Stone 34 project in Wallingford and the Bullitt Center building on Capitol Hill.

Seattle DCI released two updated Tips, a draft Director’s Rule on green building standards, and a final Director’s Rule on an updated steep slope map.
